The Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board (SSTGB), the State and Local Advisory Council (SLAC), Executive Committee and Business Advisory Council (BAC) will meet on November 6 - 8, 2023 at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, KY. Member state and non-member state officials, legislators and the business community are invited to attend and provide input. The Governing Board strongly encourages the attendance of each member state’s appointed Governing Board Delegates (legislative and administrative) to represent their individual states and vote on various changes being considered.
If you would like to have specific items on the Governing Board, SLAC or Executive Committee meeting agenda(s), including proposed amendments to the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement (SSUTA) or Rules, presentations on specific topics, etc., please email email@example.com as soon as possible, but no later than October 2, 2023. The final agenda will be published and noticed to the email ListServs 30-days prior to the meeting.
This is the Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board’s annual meeting and therefore, the Governing Board will be electing the officers and directors for the upcoming year. We will also be discussing the continued implementation of remote sales tax collection and the importance of the simplification and uniformity provisions adopted by the SST member states, how we need to coordinate our activities and work together to educate remote sellers about their sales tax collection responsibilities, what we are planning to do to improve educational outreach to remote sellers and member states, consider possible amendments to the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement (SSUTA) and Rules, including additional disclosed practices and possible best practices, reviewing each state’s compliance with the SSUTA and receive an update on the Multistate Tax Commission’s project related to digital goods. We will also be receiving reports from the various committees, get an update from our federal affairs representative, discuss options to make it easier for remote sellers to file and pay their sales tax, discuss the Certified Service Provider contract and more.
The final documents for the meetings must be emailed to Craig Johnson no later than October 20, 2023. All meeting documents will be posted to the SST Governing Board’s website and linked to the applicable meeting agenda 10 days prior to the meeting. A paper publication will not be distributed, so please print out copies of any of the documents you want a hard copy of prior to the meeting.
